Volleyball defeats Dubuque on Yell Night
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Volleyball team defeated Dubuque in five sets 12-25, 25-15, 26-24, 22-25, 15-13 for their Homecoming Yell Night match on Wednesday night on Bo Ryan Court.

The Pioneers improve to 15-7 (2-2 WIAC) and the Spartans fall to 14-10 (2-3 ARC).
It was a slow start for the Pioneers who hit .000 as a team and allowing the Spartans to hit .370 in the 12-25 first set loss. The Pioneers bounced back with 18 kills in the second set and a .516 hitting percentage as a team. The remainder of the match was back and forth between the Pioneers and Spartans before the 15-13 win in the fifth set.
Freshman Stephanie Kalinowski led the way defensively with 34 digs in the match. Sophomore Olivia Kudronowicz (16), junior Hailey Youngren (16) and freshman Sam Rossetti (10) each finished with double digit digs. Sophomore Lita Solbrig led the team with four blocks while senior Katie Jones and sophomore Kaite Asche each had three blocks.
Asche quietly led the Pioneers' offense with ten kills and a great .474 hitting percentage. Jones and Kudronowicz each finished with 11 kills to lead the team. Kudronowicz added four aces. Sophomore CJ Johnson finished with 25 assists, nine digs and two aces.
The Pioneers host UW-La Crosse on Friday night at 7:00 pm on Bo Ryan Court.
