WHITEWATER, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Volleyball team fell to #9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 20-25, 23-25, 23-25 on Wednesday night at Russell Arena.
The Pioneers fall to 14-7 (2-2 WIAC) and the Warhawks improve to 15-3 (4-0 WIAC).
In what was a defensive battle, the Pioneers were held to a .077 hitting percentage while the Warhawks hit .163. The Warhawks finished with 32 kills to the Pioneers' 28, which proved to be the difference.
Sophomore Olivia Kudronowicz had seven kills (.200 hitting percentage) and added 13 digs and an ace. Sophomore CJ Johnson ran the offense most of the night and finished with 18 assists, three kills (.250 hitting percentage) and had nine digs. Sophomore Lauren Murphy led the team with three service aces.
On the defensive end, freshman Stephanie Kalinowski led the Pioneers with 15 digs while senior Katie Jones had three block assists.
As part of homecoming week, the Pioneers host Dubuque for 'Yell Night' on October 16th at 7:00 pm.
