Briana Kaiser Named AVCA First Team All-Region; Ali Sikic Selected Honorable Mention
University of Wisconsin-Platteville seniors Briana Kaiser and Ali Sikic on Thursday received all-Midwest region recognition by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Kaiser, a middle blocker from Cuba City, was named to the first team for a second-straight year. She led the Pioneers with 376 kills and third on the team with 99 blocks, in addition to being named first team all-conference earlier this week. With being named first team all-region, she moves on to the ballot for all-american honors.
Sikic, a setter from Sugar Grove, Illinois, picked up honorable mention honors. Sikic, who also was named first team all-WIAC earlier this week, set up the UW-Platteville attack with 1,329 assists and was second on the team with 26 service aces.
Both were instrumental in a Pioneer team that finished fourth in the WIAC Tournament and posted a 21-16 overall record.
