BELOIT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 1-0 loss at Beloit College Wednesday afternoon at Strong Soccer Field.

BELOIT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 1-0 loss at Beloit College Wednesday afternoon at Strong Soccer Field.
UW-Platteville (2-14-2, 1-4-1 WIAC) outshot Beloit (4-12-0, 2-6-0 MWC) 22-2, but the Buccaneers were able to jump out early with a 1-0 lead that held through the entirety of the 90 minutes of play.
Beloit's Sydney Hukin found Mikaila Davis in the 13th minute to secure the lone goal of the game. Freshmen Emma Willard and Alyssa Marroquin each tallied four shots apiece while senior Taylor Martin added three of her own. Overall, the Pioneers recorded 11 shots on goal and held an 8-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Connor Keegan-Lloyd stacked up 11 saves for the Buccaneers while junior Kathryn Flaherty added one more to her season total of 80 saves.
The Pioneers have one more game slated on the 2019 docket and a victory would secure the Pioneers' place in the 2019 WIAC Tournament. UW-Platteville will travel to the Titans of UW Oshkosh on Saturday, Nov. 2 with game time set for 2 p.m.
