Eck and Dunlavy earn All-WIAC Honors; Blatz named to All-Sportsmanship Team
UW-Platteville's Melissa Dunlavy and Sarah Eck were selected all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) by the league coaches on Tuesday.
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Melissa Dunlavy and Sarah Eck were selected women's soccer all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) by the league coaches on Tuesday.
Dunlavy led the team's defenders with four goals and added an assist. She anchored the defense that recorded seven shutouts this year. The Bettendorf, Iowa native, was named conference Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 15. She started all but three games in her career and recorded 72 career points.
Eck scored four of her seven goals in conference play and led the Pioneers with 16 points. The Cambridge Wis. native, was named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week three times and earned the weekly honor the last two weeks of the regular season. She ended her career ranked third in school history with 34 goals and 76 points.
Senior Cassie Blatz was named to the conference All-Sportsmanship Team for her display of exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
