Women's Soccer Blanks Lakeland, 9-0
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s soccer team routed Lakeland College, 9-0, on Saturday at Sheboygan, Wis.
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team routed Lakeland College, 9-0, on Saturday at Sheboygan, Wis.
The Pioneers improve to 3-1 on the season because of the big day from freshman Yamilex Jaramillo, who scored the game's first two goals and assisted the third goal to sophomore Julie Divita. Jaramillo's first goal came at the 1:10 mark and just under seven minutes later netter her third of the season. The Pioneers would take a 5-0 lead into halftime with 17 shots.
UW-Platteville poured it on in the second-half with goals from seniors Corey Daehling, Ashley Chernich, juniors Katie Viney and Taylor Stanley.
Jade Jandt and Katie Rash split time in the goal and recorded the Pioneers third shutout of the season.
The Pioneers return to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday when they face off with Clarke at 5 p.m.
