PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to 10th-ranked Loras College on Wednesday night at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers (2-1) kept the Duhawk offense at bay for the most part in the first-half, and only allowing one goal with four corner kicks and six shots.
"In the first-half, we stuck to our game plan and were able to keep it close," said head coach Allison Stringer. "Then in the second-half we got a little anxious and started coming out of our formation a bit. Loras put away their opportunities and we couldn't do the same tonight."
Loras made it a 2-0 game in 50th-minute and then put the game out of reach when Shelby Perkins scored off a free kick from 30-yards out in the 65th-minute.
The Duhawk offense was relentless, out shooting the Pioneers 17-5 and totaled six corners to UW-Platteville's one.
"We will learn from our mistakes tonight and bounce back on Saturday," said Stringer.
The Pioneers travels to Lakeland on Saturday with the game time set for 2 p.m.
