The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team posted a 7-0 rout of host UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers (6-9-1, 2-5 WIAC) Corey Daehling and Katie Viney each scored twice in the win. Also, offensively, Marissa Mol scored a goal and assisted on another.
Goalkeepers Jade Jandt and Molly Bender each played a half in the shutout and held the Yellowjackets to 11 shots in the shutout. The Pioneers managed to post a convincing advantage in shots, 29 to 11.
UW-Platteville scored four times in the first half and added three more in the second in the win. The seven goals are a season-high for the Pioneers, who had previously scored five times in the 5-2 win over Ripon in the second game of the season.
Next, the Pioneers will wrap up the regular season on Sunday when they face Finlandia in Hancock, Michigan at 11 a.m. (CST) and noon (EST).
