UW-Platteville Wrestling competes at Knox College Tournament.
The University of Wisconsin – Platteville wrestling team wrestled in the Knox College Tournament on Saturday in Galesburg, IL. The Pioneers were faced with tough competition at the tournament. The stiff competition that the Pioneers faced was a great learning experience for the young Pioneer team. 20 Pioneers wrestled at the tournament with five of the Pioneers placing in their weight class. Four of the five Pioneers were freshman. Freshman Cole Ferguson took 5th in the 125 lbs. weight class. Freshman Mason Bohm wrestled in the championship match finishing with a 2nd place finish at 141 lbs. Freshman Mike Uliana took home a 5th place finish at 165 lbs. weight class. Also placing in the 165 lbs. weight class was freshman Randy Wade. The final Pioneer to place was junior Austin Holland placed 3rd in the 174 lbs. weight class. The Pioneers will next travel to Mequon, WI to wrestle in the Concordia University Open on November 17th at 9 am.
