Pioneers open spring season at Duhawk Invite
ASBURY, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team teed off its spring portion of the schedule at Loras College’s Duhawk Spring Invitational at The Meadows golf course. The Pioneers placed fourth as a team while nine golfers in all competed at the Sunday-Monday event.

The Pioneers sat third of eight teams after the first 18 on Sunday with a round of 353 and shed four strokes off the next round for a two-day total of 702, and just one stroke behind third place St. Ambrose. University of Dubuque captured first place with a team score of 663 strokes.
Sophomore Taylor Swalve paced the Pioneers and tied for fifth individually with rounds of 86 and 84 (170).
Also finishing in the top-10 was sophomore Madison Berg who placed nineth, combining 86 and 87 for a two-day total of 175 strokes.
Freshman Danielle Bruecker finished 13th with a score of 177 (89, 88), junior Emma Cage tied for 17th with 182 (92, 90) and junior Nicole Sedam rounded out the five Pioneers with a total of 202 (101, 101).
Competing as individuals were junior Morgan Cooley who placed 25th with a total of 191 (96, 95), sophomore Hannah Tysse with 199 (97, 102), sophomore Emma Slattery with a score of 220 (112, 108) and junior Jada Chang who finished day one with round of 90 strokes.
The Pioneers will return to action on Friday, April 19 when they compete in Janesville, Wisconsin at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Spring Invite.
