Pioneers take second at Viking Invitational
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team had a strong showing at the final competition of the 2022-23 season at Augustana's Viking Invitational. The Pioneers led after the first 18 at Highlands Springs Golf Course with a round of 318 strokes and finished with a two-day total of 653 strokes to capture second place of eight competing teams.

The Pioneers led after the first 18 at Highlands Springs Golf Course with a round of 318 strokes and finished with a two-day total of 653 strokes to capture second place of eight competing teams.
Host Augustana pulled ahead on Saturday with a round of 304 to take first with a two-day total of 624.
Senior Markie Ash and junior Josie Alm tied for 4th overall with a total of 158 strokes. Ash had a season best on Friday and tied her career low of 73 strokes. Alm also had a season low of 77 strokes on Friday.
Senior Emily Veenhuis combined 83 and 85 to tie for 17th as an individual.
Freshman Taylor Swalve shaved two off Friday's 86 strokes for a career best 84 on Saturday to tie for 22nd place.
Sophomore Jada Change rounded out the five scoring Pioneers with a total of 177 strokes (85, 92) to tie for 28th.
Freshman Madison Berg shot rounds of 80 and 85 as an individual to finish 11th. Sophomore Nicole Sedam had two rounds of 88 to take 27th and freshman Emma Slattery rounded out the participating Pioneers with a two-day total of 195 (99, 96) for 46th place.
