Pioneers compete at UW-Whitewater Spring Fling
JANESVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville golf team competed Friday and Saturday at UW-Whitewater’s Spring Fling at the Riverside Golf Course. The Pioneers finished seventh out of 14 teams after two rounds.

The Pioneers shot 357 in round one and improved to 347 on day two.
Senior Markie Ash led the Pioneers and finished tied for eighth as an individual shooting rounds of 80 and 82 for a total of 162 strokes.
Junior Josie Alm grouped two rounds of 89 strokes to finish 34th overall. Freshman Taylor Swalve finished 43rdas an individual with a first round of 94 before improving to 89 strokes in the second round.
Sophomore Jada Chang finished one behind Swalve with a two-round total of 184 strokes and senior Emily Veenhuis rounded out the five Pioneers with a total of 187 strokes to finish tied for 51st.
Three more Pioneers competed as individuals at the tournament. Freshman Madison Berg finished tied for 40th place with rounds of 89 and 93. Sophomore Nicole Sedam finished tied for 59th place with rounds of 95 and 97 and freshman Emma Slattery finished with a two-day total of 230 strokes.
UW-Platteville will compete again next Friday and Saturday at the Augustana Viking Invite at the Highland Springs Golf Course.
