Ash Wins UW-Stevens Point Invitational as Pioneers finish Second Overall
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team finished second out of six teams at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational held at Sentry World Golf Course. The Pioneers finished with a 36-hole team score of 716 after rounds of 354 and 362.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished second out of six teams at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational held at Sentry World Golf Course. The Pioneers finished with a 36-hole team score of 716 after rounds of 354 and 362.
Senior Markie Ash held a share of the lead following round one after shooting an 80 that included two birdies. Ash followed up with an 82 in the second round to claim the top spot with a 36-hole score of 162. This is Ash's second individual victory of the year.
Two Pioneers finished tied for 12th overall. Junior Josie Alm shot a two-day total of 184 after rounds of 91 and 93 while sophomore Jada Chang shot 90 and 94.
Also competing for the Pioneers was freshman Madison Berg finishing 15th overall with 186 (93,93) and freshman Taylor Swalve shooting 196 (98,98).
The Pioneers will finish up their fall season at the 54-hole WIAC Championship which begins Friday, Oct. 7 at Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
