Pioneers Finish Second at UW-La Crosse Invitational
ONALASKA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women’s golf team finished in second place out of 11 teams at the UW-La Crosse Invitational hosted at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek. The Pioneers finished with an 18-hole team score of 333.
ONALASKA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished in second place out of 11 teams at the UW-La Crosse Invitational hosted at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek. The Pioneers finished with an 18-hole team score of 333. The team was able to keep their good momentum going coming off a first-place finish at the Loras College Invite.
Senior Markie Ash led the way for the Pioneers shooting 79 which placed her tied third overall at the invite. Ash shot a 41 on the front nine and 38 on the back nine that included two birdies.
Junior Josie Alm (83) and senior Emily Veenhuis (84) both continued their good form to earn top 10 finishes.
Also competing for the Pioneers was freshman Taylor Swalve who shot 87 and sophomore Jada Chang shooting 89.
Playing as individuals were freshman Maddy Berg who tied for 11th with an 86 and sophomore Emma Cage who shot 92.
The Pioneers will finish their weekend of competition at the Viterbo University Invitational at the La Crosse Country Club on Sunday, Sept. 25.
