Kelsey Lieving Wins Individual Title at Augustana Invitational
On the strength of a 38 on the front nine, University of Wisconsin-Platteville junior Kelsey Lieving shot a nine-over 81 en route to individual title honors on Thursday at the Augustana Invitational at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa. The Geneseo, Illinois native was three strokes ahead of four individuals, who posted an 84. It is the first individual title in her career.
Joining Lieving in the top 10 from UW-Platteville were teammates Kellsey Welter and Kerrie Liske, who shared seventh-place honors with an 87 (+15). The trio led UW-Platteville to a second-place finish as a team with a team total of 349, just two strokes behind tournament champion and host Augustana.
For the remainder of the UW-Platteville lineup, Stacy Heiling was 14th with a 94, followed by Katie Gregorich, who tied for 28th with a 105.
The Pioneers continue the spring portion of their schedule on Friday, Apr. 20 as they travel to the UW-Whitewater Invitational.
