Pioneer Women's Basketball Announces Team Award Recipients

he University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team handed out its post-season awards for 2011-12 as voted on by the student-athletes.
Junior Liz Lawinger picked up a pair of honors including the Top Offensive Player and the Pioneer Award. The Pioneer Award is the player that embodies the four qualifying standards: 1) the player acts selflessly for the good of the team; 2) the player enhances team unity; 3) the player works hard to gain the respect of teammates and staff members; 4) the player displays enthusiasm and passion for the game of basketball.
Junior Claire Poad was recognized as the Top Defensive Player and freshman Rilee Schmitz was selected as the Most Improved Player.
