Pioneers end regular season with big marks

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Two Pioneers were able to improve their marks and national standings at the UW-Platteville Final Qualifying meet Friday.
Dan Arnold improved on last week's WIAC Championship run by breaking his school and facility record. Arnold clocked a time of 7.96 in the short hurdle event and moves into the number one position in the Division III performance list.
Kyle Whaley also came back from a strong performance at the WIAC Championships to improve on his shot put mark. Whaley threw 54-7.5 (16.65), a lifetime best, to move into the top-15 in the national rankings.
The top-15 male individuals and top-17 female individuals in each event will qualify to the national meet at Grinnell College next week. The full list of national qualifiers will be released on Sunday.
