2014 (Outdoor): Qualified for three events at the WIAC Championships … earned honorable mention honors as a member of the third-place finishing 4x100-meter relay team.

2014 (Indoor): Competed in the WIAC Indoor Championships in the 60-meter dash (finished 13th), 200-meter dash (finished 14th), and the 4x200-meter relay (team finished third).

2013: Part of the conference-champion 4x100-meter relay team at the WIAC Outdoor Championships (41.13).

Personal: Son of Holly Gerard and Michael Mertens ... criminal justice major.
