Pioneers compete at Last Chance Meets
UW-Platteville track and field had a few athletes compete the Augie Twilight Qualifier, the UW-Oshkosh Last Chance, and North Central’s Gregory Invitational on Friday.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field had a few athletes compete the Augie Twilight Qualifier, the UW-Oshkosh Last Chance, and North Central's Gregory Invitational on Friday.
Dan Poh for the second consecutive day won the javelin this time at Gregory Invite, with a mark of 188-feet-3-inch, but his throw didn't beat his season-best. Garrett Riggs and the 4x100-meter relay team also competed at North Central. Riggs finished sixth in the pole vault, clearing 14-feet-10-inch. The relay team of Mitchell Dowell, Caleb Mertens, Brandon Navin and Patrick Kessenich, finished fifth with a time of 42.26.
Emily Kjos threw the javelin at the Augie Twilight and finished second with a mark of 125-feet-2-inch, which didn't surpass her season-best.
Kyle Whaley and Jon Petrie competed at UW-Oshkosh in the shot put. Whaley finished ninth with a throw 51-feet-3.25-inch and Petrie placed in 12th.
