Men's Soccer routs Cornell, 9-0

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- It only took the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team 1:22 to score and the Pioneers never looked back routing Cornell College, 9-0, on Tuesday in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
A throw in by sophomore Jordan Williams allowed Caleb Sedlacek to score 1:22 the Pioneers first goal of the game. Junior Hunter McMahon gave UW-Platteville a 2-0 lead at the 12:35 mark and then just over two minutes later senior Cameron Weess put the Pioneers up 3-0. McMahon struck again in the 20th minute and freshman Alex Bach scored is first collegiate goal in the 32nd minute. William Pretto scored the Pioneers' final goal of opening half on a free kick at the 38:17 mark giving UW-Platteville a 6-0 lead at halftime. The Pioneers didn't allow Cornell to record a single shot and UW-Platteville bombarded the Rams' goalkeeper with 20 shot.
Bach scored his second goal of the game in the 50th minute as the Pioneers cruised to a 9-0 victory, and improved to 5-3-3 on the season.
