PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team scored all three of its goals in the second-half to beat St. Norbert, 3-0, on Sunday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
"It was a game of two halves, and in the first half we had a hard time finding gaps in their defense," said head coach Enzo Fuschino. "We made some adjustments in the second half and moved the ball much quicker which resulted in some nice goals."
After a scoreless first half the Pioneers had a slight 5-3 edged on shots.
Then in the 50th-minute a failed clearance by a Green Knight defender gave freshman Jake Tyler a wide open look from eight yards out and he scored his first collegiate goal, giving UW-Platteville a 1-0 lead.
Freshman Emilio Lopez delivered a nice through ball to senior Cameron Weess in the 53rd-minute and Weess finished the nice play scoring the Pioneers' second goal of the game.
Lopez stayed aggressive on the offensive end and in the 80th-minute the Verona, Wis. native dribbled around two defenders before scoring from 15 yards out and gave the Pioneers a 3-0 victory.
UW-Platteville travels to Mount Vernon, Iowa for a non-conference game versus Cornell College on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
