UW-Platteville soccer co-captain Tyler Holle earned second team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors.
Holle made the honor squad, which consists of all non-Division I players in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, for his work on the field and in the classroom.
The senior from Bettendorf, Iowa earned all-state and all-North Central Region honors for his play in the midfield. He led the Pioneers to their first-ever NCAA III playoff appearance and tournament victory in 2008.
A physical education/health promotions major, Holle carries a 3.60 grade-point average and is also an academic all-WIAC selection.
He concluded his standout career Sunday by playing in his 74th career game.
To be eligible for the honor squad, a player must be a sophomore or older, be a starter or significant reserve, and be carrying at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average. Nominees are then voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
