Macalester (Minn.) spoiled UW-Platteville's men's soccer celebrations Saturday night with a 2-1 comeback victory.
Prior to the game, the Pioneers unveiled a brand-new banner celebrating the team's 2008 NCAA III tournament, and had an even bigger celebration when they were joined by Coach Enzo Fuschino.
Fuschino, who suffered a heart attack Aug. 1, made his first appearance in front of the team, with a surprise entrance right before the banner ceremony.
It looked like the Pioneers would be able to celebrate a win as well. Chris Brown put UWP on the board first, taking a crossing pass from B.J. Gottschlich and blasting a shot from 22 yards out. Just eight minutes later, the Scots' Jake Duscha tied the contest by scoring in front of the net at 68:32, and Carson Gorecki scored the game-winner with 5:37 to play.
The Pioneers, now 2-1-1, play host to St. Thomas Sunday at 3 p.m. The Tommies fell to Loras 3-0 at Pioneer Stadium.
