Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Lancaster Bible, 82-52
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s basketball team defeated Lancaster Bible College, 82-52, Saturday night on Bo Ryan Court in the UW-Platteville Thanksgiving Tournament.
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team cruised past Lancaster Bible College, 82-52, Saturday night on Bo Ryan Court in the UW-Platteville Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Pioneers forced 30 turnovers on 14 steals and led by junior Eric Gerber with four steals and added a game-high three assists and five points. Senior Rob Stallion led UW-Platteville with 15 points and six rebounds. Junior Chas Cross added 11 points, while sophomore Jake Manning registered 10 points.
Lancaster's guard Keith Keltner shot 6-11 from the floor and scored a game-high 16 points with five rebounds.
UW-Platteville wasted no time and jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead on a three-pointer by Cross and an easy layup by Stallion. LBC's Keltner nailed a jumper at the 19:03 mark before the Pioneers went on a 8-0 run to take 11 point lead with 16:52 left in the half. UW-Platteville kept surging to take a 24-point, 43-19, lead at halftime.
In the second-half, UW-Platteville didn't slow down as they took their largest lead of the game of 38 points, 64-26, with 13:47 left to play. The Chargers weren't able to get within 30 points as the Pioneers took the 82-52 victory. UW-Platteville scored 18 of its 31 points off turnovers in the second-half.
The Pioneers improve to 4-0, while Lancaster fell to 0-2 and will play MacMurray in the consolation game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
UW-Platteville will face off with Wartburg in the UW-Platteville Thanksgiving Tournament championship game on Sunday at 3 p.m. on Bo Ryan Court.
