Zilbar and Eddy earn All-American honors
UWPlatteville's Jacob Zilbar was named first team D3football.com All-America and third team Associated Press Little All-America (top players from Division II, III, and NAIA), while Jayson Eddy was selected second team D3football.com All-America.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Jacob Zilbar was named first team D3football.com All-America and third team Associated Press Little All-America (top players from Division II, III, and NAIA), while Jayson Eddy was selected second team D3football.com All-America.
Zilbar led the UW-Platteville defense from his linebacker spot and was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and D3football.com West Region Defensive Player of the Year. He had 78 total tackles, four interceptions and five pass breakups for the 7-3 Pioneers.
Eddy anchored the Pioneer offense that averaged over 400 yards of total offense per game and only allowed 12 sacks. He was a key clog that paved the way for Andy Puccini to set a new school single season rushing record.
