Puccini and Robinson earn weekly WIAC honors

MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Andy Puccini and Andrew Robinson earned weekly Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) football honors, announced by the league office.
Puccini garnered his second WIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season, as he led the Pioneer offense with 119 rushing yards and scored all three of UW-Platteville's touchdowns in the Pioneers' 24-14 victory over UW-River Falls on Oct. 11. He averaged 4.1 yards on his 29 carries.
Robinson was named WIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. He helped slow down the UW-River Falls offense in a 24-14 triumph. He led the Pioneers with three forced fumbles and 12 tackles - with three and a half of them going for a loss.
The 14th-ranked Pioneers host 13th-ranked UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. Saturday's contest is UW-Platteville's annual Pink Out Game and their Cake for a Cause Game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness. Cakes have been donated to be silent auctioned, with all the proceeds to go to Family Advocates. Family Advocates is a nonprofit organization providing services for victims of sexual assault and family/partner abuse.
