The next inning, sophomore Spencer Robertson tripled to lead off and then scored on a single by junior Slate Higa. Pomeroy helped himself in the sixth inning with an RBI triple to left center to make it 4-3.
The Pioneers tied the game in the top of the fourth inning after junior Justin Lago leadoff with a solo home run to the opposite field. Then with two outs, Katterhagen drove in the go-ahead run with a double down the left field line.
Pomeroy wrapped up the game one win with a three-up, three-down ninth inning that included a pair of strikeouts. He finished with five strikeouts on the day and gave up a total of seven hits while tallying three hits of his own at the plate.
