Pioneers win final two games in Mississippi
JACKSON, Miss. - UW-Platteville's offense continues to roll as the Pioneers combined for 23 runs in 15-12 and 8-7 wins against Belhaven and Millsaps.

JACKSON, Miss. - UW-Platteville's offense continues to roll as the Pioneers combined for 23 runs in 15-12 and 8-7 wins against Belhaven and Millsaps. In four games in Mississippi the Pioneers totaled 38 runs and return to Platteville on a three game winning streak.
In the final two spring break games Brennan Kearney had five hits and Jonathon Kelso, Josh Moses, and Ryan Vogel all had four. Eight Pioneers collected RBI's, led by Kelso and R. Vogel who had four each.
Belhaven College
Belhaven (6-16) scored the first five runs of the game, but UW-Platteville responded with two runs in the fourth and three in the sixth. An inning later the Pioneers took an 8-6 lead on a double by R. Vogel and sacrafice fly by MJ Ranieri. The Blazers were able to push across single runs in the eighth and ninth to send the game into extra innings.
In the top of the 10th UW-Platteville sent 12 batters to the plate broke out for seven runs. The first three runs of the inning were scored on a passed ball and two wild pitches by the Blazers, and the final four scored on single by R. Vogel, Ross Krist, and Kearney.
Belhaven scored four times in the bottom of the inning, but Keegan Madigan was brought in with two outs and struck out the only batter he faced to secure the 15-12 win.
Millsaps College
UW-Platteville gave up seven runs to Millsaps (18-10) in the first five innings, but allowed only one Majors' batter to reach base in the final four. Millsaps, who received votes in this weeks' national rankings, struggled against Tyler Vogel, Michael Greco, and Cal Krafcheck who combined for six innings of relief giving up just four hits and one earned run.
The Pioneers matched the Majors offensively, scoring six runs early and trailing just 7-6 after the fifth inning. That scored stood until the ninth when Mitchell Susa reached base to start the inning on a hit by pitch. Moses followed with a double to advance Susa to third, and Kelso knocked in both runners with a double of his own to give UW-Platteville an 8-6 lead.
Jon Dale Dieckman singled for the Majors in the bottom of the ninth, but the Pioneers turned a double-play to finish the game and give them their third win in Mississippi.
UW-Platteville hosts their first game of the season Monday, April 2 against Edgewood at 3 p.m.
