Pioneers drop two in Whitewater
Sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater rallied for a 7-5 win in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday then completed the sweep with a 5-0 victory.

WHITEWATER, WIs. - Sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater rallied for a 7-5 win in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday then completed the sweep with a 5-0 victory.
Both teams traded runs throughout the opener, scoring single runs in the second and two runs in both the third and seventh innings. The Warhawks then added two runs in the eighth on an error and a Cal Aldridge run-scoring single for the lead. Mitch Mary and Josh Moses both had two hits to pace the Pioneers.
Westin Wuethrich shut out the Pioneers on a three-hitter in the nightcap. The Warhawks led 2-0 heading into the eighth, then added three runs to put the game away.
UWW is now 26-6 overall and 13-3 in the WIAC, while the Pioneers fell to 18-18, 3-13.
