In the second game, the Pioneers found themselves down early, but quickly caught up to lead the game 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning before the Sabres fired back a run to tie the game at three apiece.
After a big six-run inning by the Sabres in the bottom of the seventh, the Pioneers earned two more runs by the top of the ninth, but couldn't close the 9-5 gap any farther.
