OSHKOSH, Wis -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team concludes its 2015 season with a 21-19 overall record and a 12-12 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record.
Facing one of the toughest final 10-game schedules in the country, the Pioneers earned a majority of their victories in the first half of the season en rout to breaking the school record for consecutive wins (14) from March 31 to April 15.
The Pioneers ended their regular season dropping doubleheaders on Saturday (16-1, 11-1) and Sunday (8-7, 9-6) to the Titans of UW-Oshkosh.
The Pioneers saw a few impressive players, stats-wise, throughout the '15 season. Evan Greco led the Pioneers at the plate, batting an amazing .357 going 51-143. He also garnered team-highs in doubles (10) and RBIs (36). Casey Schroeder led the team in runs (32) and on-base percentage (.461).
The Pioneers bid adieu to three senior players including outfielder Bobby Bean and pitchers Mike Boushley and Trevor Hall. Bean accumulated a career total of 245 appearance at the plate, 51 hits (.208 BA), 30 runs, 12 doubles and 29 RBIs. Hall finished the '15 season with career highs in saves (5), strikeouts (20) and innings pitched (27). Boushley finished second on the team (over 20 innings pitched) with and era of 4.79.
As of the now head coach Eric Frese will return 27 of his 30-man roster for the next season.
