Baseball Hosts UW-Whitewater Wednesday
The Pioneers welcome UW-Whitewater for a home doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, with games set for 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Following that, UW-Platteville heads to Edgewood for a road doubleheader on Friday starting at 5 p.m.
The Warhawks, ranked 11th in the most recent d3baseball.com poll, are off to a 6-1 start in conference play and sit at 16-4 overall on the year. UW-Whitewater has hit .333 as a team so far, and Eli Frank paces the conference with a .462 batting average to along with WIAC-high 12 doubles and 31 RBI. On the mound Michael Hilker Jr. leads the conference with a 0.86 ERA across 21.0 innings.
The Eagles are 10-8 on the year and will play Concordia Wisconsin in a home doubleheader on Wednesday before facing the Pioneers later in the week. Kyle Prindle leads the offense with a .407 batting average and 20 runs scored.
Softball Hits the Road for a Pair of Doubleheaders
After sweeping Viterbo over the weekend, the Pioneers softball team will travel to Dubuque on Thursday and UW-River Falls on Saturday this week. UW-Platteville's doubleheader against Dubuque will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with the conference opener against UW-River Falls taking place at the same times on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans have lost six straight games to enter the week at 6-13 overall. Dubuque will play Luther in a doubleheader on Tuesday before Thursday's contests against UW-Platteville. Bella Allison is hitting .429 through the first 18 games, while Katie Hayes has driven in a team-high 14 runs.
The Falcons are currently 9-7 on the year and will host Northwestern (Minn.) in a home doubleheader on Tuesday before taking on the Pioneers. Maggie Wallin is the team's top pitcher with a 4-2 record and 2.09 ERA across 47.0 innings pitched.
Track and Field Hosts Invite
The Pioneers track and field teams put together a strong weekend at the Mississippi River Rumble last weekend and look to keep that momentum rolling at the UW-Platteville Invitational this Friday and Saturday. Events on Friday are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday slated to get underway at 11 a.m.
Women's Golf Opens Spring Schedule Sunday
The Pioneers women's golf team will begin spring competition this Sunday when it competes at the two-day Duhawk Invite at The Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa. UW-Platteville will golf against Loras and the University of Dubuque at the invite.
