UW-Platteville welcomes back fans
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced Monday (July 19) that home Pioneer athletic events will be at full capacity for the 2021 fall season. After nearly 18 months of empty or near-empty facilities, Pioneer Athletics is excited to welcome back fans following the recent campus approval.

After nearly 18 months of empty or near-empty facilities, Pioneer Athletics is excited to welcome back fans following the recent campus approval.
"Pioneer Nation, we are thrilled to welcome you back to campus as we reopen to fans this fall," said Dr. Kristina Navarro, assistant chancellor and director of Athletics and Recreation.
"We appreciate your unwavering support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm so excited for our student-athletes to have the competitive experience they envisioned as a member of the Pioneer Family," added Navarro.
UW-Platteville will continue to monitor and use guidance from health officials and the NCAA as plans are subject to change, based on health and safety measures that may be in place at the time of each event.
To start things off, Pioneer soccer opens up Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 1. Women's soccer is scheduled to play Monmouth College at 4 p.m. and will be followed by men's soccer against MSOE at 7 p.m.
Pioneer football kicks off the 2021 season on Thursday, Sept. 2 under the lights at 6 p.m. against East Texas Baptist University. Finally, volleyball will reopen Williams Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Sept. 22 for their first home game against UW-Stout.
