Platteville, Wis.- The year 2020 will go down as a year that will never be forgotten. In March, COVID-19 put a stop to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer athletic competition and in person learning. The fall semester was a hybrid learning experience when classes were a combination of online and in-person leading up to November break. After November break, UW-Platteville has been virtual to finish off the fall semester.
With the fluidity of COVID and the changing landscape throughout the year, 24 student-athletes stayed the course, overcame the difficult situation and will graduate on Saturday, December 12 in a virtual ceremony.
"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes' accomplishments across the University," Athletic Director Dr. Kristina Navarro said. "We know it has been a tough road during the past nine months. Your perseverance, grit, and resilience to move over the goal line to graduate this December is commendable."
"I want each of you to know how proud we are of your accomplishments and that you will always be part of our Pioneer Family."
The UW-Platteville Pioneer athletic department congratulates the following 24 student-athletes:
