Wrestling - Grant Wedepohl, Junior (Reedsville, Wis.), 184 pounds - Wedepohl won the Pete Willson Invitation held at Wheaton College on Jan. 26-27. Earning the No. 1 seed, he won his first three matches by a combined score of 39-3. In the semi-final he earned an 8-2 decision over Wheaton's Isaac Odell before winning the championship match 6-2 against UW-Whitewater's Nick Stencel. |

Women's Basketball - Kassie Buchholz, Junior (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), Guard - Buchholz averaged 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists as the Pioneers split a pair of WIAC games last week. In the Pioneers' 82-81 loss to 18th-ranked UW-Whitewater, the junior scored eight points, had four rebounds and four assists. Buchholz's 13-point fourth-quarter lifted the Pioneers over UW-Stout on Jan. 27 by a score of 88-83. She was three-for-five from beyond the arc and a near perfect five-for-six from the free throw line leading the Pioneers for the first sweep of UW-Stout since the 1989-90 season. |

Men's Basketball - Robert Duax, Junior (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead), Guard - In UW-Platteville's 2-0 week, the Pioneers' leading scorer averaged 15.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Duax had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Pioneers' 84-67 win at No. 8 UW-Whitewater on Jan. 24. In an 86-69 victory over UW-Stout on Jan. 27 he put up 19 points with 17 coming in the first half. Duax shot 8-of-11 for the game including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. |

Women's Track - Katie Schilling, Freshman (St. Peter, Minn.) - Schilling finished third in the 60 hurdles at the UW-Platteville Select this past weekend. Her time of 9.48 seconds in the finals is tied for 5th on the UW-Platteville All-Time List and #9 in the WIAC. |

Women's Field - Brittany Ehlen, Junior (Burlington, Wis.) - Ehlen won the pole vault competition at the UW-Platteville Select on Saturday with a season best vault of 3.52 meters (11' 6.5"). Ehlen is currently ranked #4 in the WIAC and #17 on the NCAA National list. |

Men's Track - Charlie Gifford, Sophomore (Menasha, Wis.) - Gifford won the 60 hurdles at the UW-Platteville Select this past weekend. In his first race of the day, he won the preliminaries in a time of 8.54 seconds. In the finals, Gifford ran a lifetime personal record of 8.39 seconds to win the event. That time currently ranks #4 in the WIAC and is the 6th best performance in school history. |

Men's Field - Sean Cormican, Freshman (Baraboo, Wis.) - Cormican finished as the top collegiate athlete in the mens weight throw at Saturdays UW-Platteville Select. In his first full season on the team, Cormican threw exactly 16.00 meters (52' 6") for a lifetime personal record. His throw currently ranks #9 in the WIAC. Sean also finished 4th on the shot put with a personal record mark of 14.36 meters (47' 1.5"). |
