GREEN BAY, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team shutout the St. Norbert College Green Knights 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Capital Credit Union Park.
The Pioneers (1-4-1) and Green Knights (2-4) went into halftime with blanks on the scoreboard, but in the 64th minute, freshman Alyssa Marroquin found junior Taylor Gamble who tapped one from the right side six yards out to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0.
Even with St. Norbert holding a 20-6 advantage in shots, junior goalkeeper Mariah Kennedy protected the Pioneers' lead with 13 saves in her full 90 minutes of play to secure the win for UW-Platteville.
The Pioneers return to action at home on Tuesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium when they take on the Stars of Dominican at 7 p.m.
