ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team was edged by the Augustana Vikings 1-0 Wednesday night on Thorson-Lucken Field.
The undefeated Vikings (3-0-0) got off to an early start when Allison Harvey found Maeve Sheridan in the 23rd minute to put Augustana ahead 1-0. Unfortunately, the early lead would remain for the entirety of the game over the Pioneers (0-4-1).
The Vikings were able to hold the Pioneers to two shots on the night with Taylor Gamble and Macie Alexa garnering the two Pioneer attempts.
Goalkeeper Kathryn Flaherty recorded six saves in her 90-minute campaign.
Overall, the Vikings recorded 14 shots with seven on frame and Augustana had a slight advantage in corner kicks with three to the Pioneers two.
The Pioneers return to action when they hit the road to play St. Norbert in Capital Credit Union Park on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
