PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team lost on Saturday Sept. 26 to the UW-Stout Blue Devils, 3-1 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The first of the two Bluegold scores in the first half came at the 19:26 mark when the Pioneer defense misplayed the ball and allowed for an easy score. The second Bluegold score came at 33:29 off the right side and slipped past junior goalkeeper Katie Rash who received the loss (0-2).
Following the halftime break UW-Stout tacked on one more goal, this time against junior goalkeeper Mandy Taylor.
Down by three, the Pioneers did not give up as freshman Morgan Phillips kicked a beautiful set for junior Emily Phillips to head in with about 12 minutes remaining. Unfortunately it was too little too late for the Pioneers as they fall to 1-7 on the year with the 3-1 loss to UW-Stout.
The Pioneers welcome UW-La Crosse to Platteville on Wednesday, Sept. 30 as they host the Eagles with the game set to begin at 7pm.
