DUBUQUE, Iowa -- A pair of first half goals by Loras doomed the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team, 2-0, at the Rock Bowl on Wednesday.
The Duhawks offense was relentless in the first half, recorded 11 shots and two corner kicks. Loras scored its first goal in the ninth-minute and then added another one right before half, 2-0.
The Pioneers came up with four shots in the second half but couldn't seem to find the back of the net, while the defense came together to keep the Duhawks scoreless in the final period.
UW-Platteville returns to conference play on Saturday when the Pioneers welcome UW-Superior at 11 a.m.
