The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team answered an early goal by visiting Clarke to rally for a 2-1 win over the Crusaders in the home opener on Wednesday night at Pioneer Stadium.
Clarke (0-3) got on the board in the ninth minute on a crossing shot by Emily Rehfus for the early lead for the visitors.
The Pioneers (3-0) got the equalizer in the 26th minute when Anna Strasser beat Clarke goalkeeper Kaylee Steen after a pass from Corey Daehling for her first goal of the season.
UW-Platteville got off three shots in the opening minutes of the second half and Daehling put the Pioneers ahead when she converted from 18 yards out after a pass from Jackie Baumgart in the 62nd minute.
Pioneers' goalkeeper Molly Bender would keep the Crusader off the scoreboard with three more saves and blocking a shot with 18 minutes left in the contest.
With the win, the Pioneers are 3-0 for the first time since 2008 and will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Hamline at 5 p.m.
