Pioneers win opener

UW-Platteville held Concordia (Wis.) to 13 first-half points and cruised to a 57-41 victory in the opening round of the Forester Tip-Off Tournament Friday in Lake Forest.
The Pioneers advance to Saturday's 3 p.m. championship game against either Concordia (Ill.) or host Lake Forest.
UWP led 26-13 at the break after holding the Falcons to six field goals in 27 attempts.
Holly Kaiser paced the Pioneers with 19 points, while Liz Tesch scored 12, and freshman Lisa Grantman had 10 points and nine rebounds.
