Bio

Patti Laufenberg is beginning her sixth year with the track & field and cross country teams at UW-Platteville and first as Associate Head Coach. Laufenberg assists with a variety of aspects of the team including meet management, recruiting, and coaching the sprints/relays. 

During the 2021 season, Laufenberg coached Gwen Orr to breaking three school records - the indoor 200m dash (25.57 seconds), 100m dash (12.27 seconds), and outdoor 200m dash (24.91 seconds). 

In 2019, the women's 4x100m relay consisting of Tina Bean, Haley Ott, Chenoa Stuhr, and Gwen Orr broke the school record running a time of 48.60 seconds and took fourth place at the WIAC Outdoor Championships.

During the 2018 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Laufenberg coached freshman Rodrick McMiller to a third place finish in the 100m dash and a national title in the 200m dash. At the conference level, McMiller third in the 100m and won the 200m dash. McMiller broke three school records during the course of his freshman year. Laufenberg led the men's 4x100m relay to third place at the WIAC Outdoor Championships, finishing the 2018 outdoor track and field season ranked tied for No. 19 nationally. 

Attending Carthage College as an undergraduate student, Laufenberg graduated in 2014 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. While at Carthage College, Laufenberg became a six-time CCIW Conference Champion during her four-year tenure with the track & field team. She competed in the sprints, relays (4x100, 4x400, DMR), and triple jump. Laufenberg qualified to the 2012 and 2013 Division III Outdoor Championships before earning All-American status in the 400m at both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships of 2014. She capped her career at the 2014 Outdoor NCAA Championships with a record breaking performance setting a new school record of 55.82 in the 400m. 

Laufenberg graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching - Elementary degree from Converse College, located in Spartanburg, SC. While at Converse, she was a graduate assistant for the track & field and cross country teams working with a variety of training groups including the sprints, middle distance and distance, and jumps.

Originally from Waunakee, WI, Laufenberg has returned to the Wisconsin area to coach at UW-Platteville.
