Pioneers shutout Carthage as Miller ties program record
KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team shutout Carthage College 1-0 Friday night at Art Keller Field. The win and shutout for goalkeeper Nate Miller is the senior’s 20th career shutout to tie the UW-Platteville program record.

KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team shutout Carthage College 1-0 Friday night at Art Keller Field. The win and shutout for goalkeeper Nate Miller is the senior's 20th career shutout to tie the UW-Platteville program record.
The Pioneers (5-6-2 overall) struck early when sophomore Noah Mesdjian found junior Tyler Gilmore for an early 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. The Red Men (7-7-0) attacked often, with 19 shots to the Pioneers' nine and also held the andvantage of 13-1 corner kicks. However, UW-Platteville finished with the shutout and held the advantage with shots on goal tallying four to Carthage's two.
Miller completed the 90-minute affair with two saves, the shutout, and the tie for the program record. Miller now sits tied for first in program history with 20 career saves and joins Kris Bosshart who was goalkeeper for the Pioneers from 2006-09.
UW-Platteville will return to action and home when they play the Green Knights of St. Norbert College on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium as part of UW-Platteville's Homecoming celebrations.
