DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team was defeated 4-1 Wednesday night by #13 ranked Loras College.
The Pioneers (3-4-2 overall) battled it out in the first half with the nationally ranked Duhawks (8-1-1 overall) and entered the half down 1-0 after a Loras goal in the 25th minute.
Loras returned to the Rock Bowl in the second half with an eight-minute three-goal scoring streak. Down 4-0, the Pioneers' David Regan found Matt Walter to narrow the gap to 4-1, but the Pioneers were unable to recover in the allotted time.
Overall, the Duhawks held a 29-15 advantage on shots with 13 on goal for Loras and three for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers will return to action this weekend when they host UW-Whitewater on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
