Pioneers and Spartans end in scoreless draw
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s soccer team and the University of Dubuque battled it out to a 0-0 draw in a chippy 110-minute affair Wednesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team and the University of Dubuque battled it out to a 0-0 draw in a chippy 110-minute affair Wednesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
Overall, eight yellow cards and two red cards were issued with four issued in the final four minutes of play.
The Pioneers (2-2-2) and Spartans (4-1-1) remained evenly paired throughout the entire game even while playing down a man for over 30 minutes with each team tallying 13 shots through the first overtime and Dubuque adding three more in the second overtime.
The Pioneers were forced to play with ten on the field when goalkeeper Nate Miller was ejected at the 60 minute mark. Dubuque lost their player advantage in the first overtime when forward Glorie Luwara was ejected from the game.
Each team had opportunity, but each team's defense made big plays when needed especially with a huge save by goalkeeper Will Sullivan in the 108th minute against Dubque's Alessandro Corazzina to keep the Pioneers alive until the full 110 minutes expired. Sullivan recorded 5 saves in 70 minutes of play while his counterpart Brandon White recorded 2 saves in a full 110 minutes.
Freshman Jack Gentilli had a team high six shots on the night while junior Tyler Gilmore followed with three attempts.
The Pioneers will travel next to #19 Luther College on Saturday for the weekend's first contest at 2 p.m.
