Pioneers fall in another OT

UW-Platteville fall in another overtime thiller, at UW-Oshkosh 69-68 on Wednesday night. The Pioneer have lost four straight games by a grand total of 6 points, with the last two being one-point contests in overtime.

Brett Stangel's last second three-pointer gave the Pioneers a 32-25 lead into halftime.

The Pioneers increased their lead to ten points with 12:56 to play in the second half. The Titans took its first lead in the second half with 7:27 left in the game. UW-Platteville's Nick Allen knocked down two free throws to tie up the game 61-61 with three seconds left in reguation.

After a missed free three by UW-Oshkosh's Brain Washington with six seconds left in overtime, Pioneers' Eric Gerber missed a eight-foot runner with one second remaining in extra time.

UW-Platteville had four players score in double digits. Nick Allen scored a game-high 19 points while Stangel recorded a career-high 17 points.

Titan's John Flanigan scored a team-high 17 points, followed by Cory Wittwer 16 points.

The Pioneers travel to UW-La Crosse on Saturday to play first in the men's and women's doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. They return home on Dec. 14 to play host to Cornell at 7:00 p.m.
