  • Pioneers look to finish strong in regular season

    Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s and women’s basketball team have two high-stake games left in the regular season. The men will finish off the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a pair of road games as they attempt to clinch a league championship. The Pioneers will travel to UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 19 for a 7 p.m. contest, before closing out the regular season Feb. 22 at UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m.

  • No. 8 Pioneers win big on Senior Night

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (20-3, 10-2 WIAC) ranked No. 8 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated UW-River Falls (12-11, 5-7 WIAC) 94-54 on Saturday night. The Pioneers celebrated their seniors Tanner Hudziak, Carter Voelker and Tim Bassuener in their last regular season home game.
  • Pioneers pick up road win over Warhawks

    WHITEWATER, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (19-3, 9-2 WIAC) ranked No. 8 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated UW-Whitewater (7-15, 2-9 WIAC) 70-68 on Wednesday night. This is the fourth consecutive WIAC victory for the Pioneers.
  • Pioneer wrestling ready for postseason

    Platteville, Wis.-The No. 23 nationally ranked University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team finished up the regular season with a thrilling victory in the annual “Throwdown in the Theatre” match against UW Oshkosh on Feb. 7. The Pioneers won six straight matches to put the Titans away 28-9.

  • Pioneers cruise past Blue Devils

    MENOMONIE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (18-3, 8-2 WIAC) ranked No. 12 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated UW-Stout (5-15, 1-8 WIAC) 84-72 on Saturday afternoon. Junior Quentin Shields' 13 points surpassed 1,000 career points and he is the 35th Pioneer to reach the career achievement.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (17-3, 7-2 WIAC) ranked No. 12 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated No. 18 UW-La Crosse (16-4, 5-4 WIAC) 91-87 on Wednesday Night. With a UW-Oshkosh loss on Wednesday night, the Pioneer now have sole possession of first place in the WIAC standings.
  • Pioneers return to court after weekend off

    Platteville, Wis-The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneer basketball teams return to the court on Feb. 5 as the men host UW-La Crosse in a 7 p.m. contest on Bo Ryan Court, and the women’s team will travel to UW-La Crosse for a 7 p.m. contest.  Both teams are coming off overtime wins, the women needing only one to defeat UW Oshkosh 69-65 on Jan. 29, while the men needed two to knock off the Titans 91-87.
  • Pioneers prevail in double overtime

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (16-3, 6-2 WIAC) ranked No. 15 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated UW-Oshkosh (12-7, 6-2 WIAC) 91-87 in double overtime on Wednesday night. Senior Carter Voelker eclipsed 1,000 career points in the first half of the win.

    Platteville, WIs.-The University of Wisconsin-Platteville students returned to campus on Monday to begin second semester just in time, as the Pioneer men’s basketball team welcome league-leading and defending national champions UW Oshkosh to Bo Ryan Court on Jan. 29 for an “Orange Out” contest starting at 7 p.m.

  • “Garding Against Cancer” miracle minute raises $2,023
    January 24, 2020
    Platteville, Wis- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and UW-Whitewater battled it out on the court on Wednesday night as the crowd battled cancer off the court.  The Pioneers held its annual “Garding Against Cancer” game on Wednesday, Jan. 22.   During the under 16-minute media timeout of the second half, the Pioneer cheer team passed buckets through the crowd to collect donations.

    PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (15-2, 5-1 WIAC) ranked No. 11 on the D3hoops.com poll, defeated UW-Whitewater (13-2, 3-2 WIAC) 77-56 on Wednesday night for Garding Against Cancer Night. $2,023 was raised which included a $500 donation from Southwest Health.

  • Busy week ahead for the Pioneers

    Platteville, Wis.- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will have a busy athletic week ahead.  The men’s and women’s basketball team will face two conference foes; wrestling will travel to UW-La Crosse for a dual; and the indoor track and field teams will participate in its first meet of the year.

Senior Carter Voelker scored the game-winning basket with :03 remaining to give the Pioneers the 69-67 victory.

  • Ohio native makes transition from player, to coach and recruiter

    Platteville, Wis.- Robert Stallion was finishing up his senior year at Cleveland Benedictine, in Ohio, when he was told by his high school coach Rob Stircula to be expecting a call from coach Jeff Gard from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.  “From whom?”  Stallion asked his coach.
