Pioneers split to finish regular season
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team lost 4-15 and won 8-3 against University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday at Kendall Murray Field.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team lost 4-15 and won 8-3 against University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Saturday at Kendall Murray Field. The Pioneers won 3-of-4 against the Titans for the first time since 2012.
The Pioneers finished 19-19 overall (14-10 WIAC) and the Titans finished 18-21 overall (11-13 WIAC).
In game one, the Pioneers allowed 11 runs in the first three innings and weren't able to recover from the deficit and lost 4-15 in eight innings.
The Pioneers had ten hits as a team with three players registering multiple hits: sophomore Ross Krist, sophomore Jonathan Kelso and senior Connor Crotty. Freshman Rich Jesse Jr. pitched three perfect innings to end the game and had two strikeouts.
In game two, the Pioneers scored first and never trailed in the game. Senior Tyler Vogel pitched seven innings with zero earned runs allowed. Vogel had seven strikouts. Senior Scottie Gordon pitched the final two innings and allowed one earned run.
Krist, Crotty, junior Josh Moses and junior Collin Mormann each finished with multiple hits. Krist went 3-of-5 with two RBI, Crotty went 2-of-3 with a homerun two RBI and two runs scored, Moses went 2-of-5 with a double and two RBI and Mormann went 2-of-4 and scored two runs.
The Pioneers will travel to La Crosse begin their WIAC Championship schedule against University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday, May 10th at 10 am.
