Pioneers win three games on Friday
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team defeated Finlandia in three WIAC games on Friday at Kendall Murray Field.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team defeated Finlandia in three seven-inning WIAC games on Friday at Kendall Murray Field.
The Pioneers improved to 15-17 overall (10-9 WIAC) while the Lions fell to 4-27 overall (1-15 WIAC).
Senior Tyler Vogel started on the mound and earned the Pioneer's 11-2 win in the first game. Vogel pitched five innings, allowed two runs and struck out six batters. Senior Scottie Gordon pitched two shutout innings in relief.
Sophomore Jonathan Kelso had four of the team's five hits in the game. Kelso went 4-of-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.
In game number two, the Pioneers won 11-3 behind senior Keegan Madigan's complete game win. Madigan allowed two earned runs in his seven innings.
Offensively, the Pioneers were led by Kelso and junior Josh Moses who combined for seven of the team's ten hits. Kelso went 3-of-4 with a double, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Moses went 4-of-4 with two doubles, three RBI and a stolen base.
In the final game, the Pioneers won 5-3 thanks to a four-run first inning. Sophomore Ross Krist led off with a double followed by a Kelso walk and Moses bunt single to load the bases. Senior Mitchell Susa was hit by a pitch to drive in Krist and senior Brennan Kearney followed with a three RBI double.
Senior Russell Lundius started and pitched five innings with zero earned runs allowed and six strikeouts. Gordon pitched two innings of relief for the second time of the day and allowed zero earned runs.
The Pioneers are scheduled to host Finlandia on Saturday, April 27th at 12:00 pm at Kendall Murrary Field.
