TICKET AND CAMPUS INFORMATION
All three games will be played at the Gustie Soccer Field. Tickets will be cash-only and sold at the field gates. Admission is $12 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, and $2 for children. Fans are encouraged to park in the "A" and "G" lots on campus as indicated on the campus map, with swim & dive hosting St. Olaf, football hosting Concordia, and men's hockey hosting St. Olaf on campus on Saturday. Lot "B" will be reserved for tournament staff, handicapped parking, and team buses. No dogs or alcoholic beverages are permitted inside the facility.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – No. 4/5 Gustavus men's soccer (15-1-3, 8-0-2 MIAC) hosts a four-team regional, the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament, this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17, at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Division III national 64-team field was announced by the NCAA Monday.
Gustavus faces Milwaukee School of Engineering (12-3-6, 8-2-2 NACC) at 11 a.m. Saturday with the other first round match-up featuring UW-Platteville (13-2-3, 4-2 WIAC) and North Central (Ill.) (10-5-5, 4-3-1 CCIW) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday's winners will face each other at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Platteville, seeded second in the regional, received one of 21 at-large bids after falling to No. 7 UW-Eau Claire, 1-0, in the WIAC Championship. North Central defeated No. 9 North Park on the road in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) playoff championship game, 2-1, to earn its conference's automatic bid to the tourney. MSOE reached the national tournament via the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's (NACC) automatic bid, defeating Aurora 2-1. This will be the third trip ot the national tournament for the Raiders, who previously qualified in 2014 and 2015.
The Gusties, ranked No. 4 in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches and No. 5 according to the NCAA Division III's National Power Index (NPI), earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament after suffering their first loss of the season, 3-2, against reigning national champions St. Olaf in the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday. St. Olaf (14-4-3, 8-0-2 MIAC) earned the MIAC's automatic bid to the tournament with the victory, and will face Wartburg (11-4-4, 6-2 A-R-C).
GUSTIES IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
The Gusties will make their 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament Saturday, and fifth in the last six years the tournament was held. Last season, the Gusties defeated host Wartburg on the road, before falling to then-No. 10 Calvin in the round of 32. The Gustavus men's soccer program owns an all-time record of 13-11-9 in the national tournament.
